Preparations in progress for "The Night of Knowledge" on 4th November

The Institute of Forming Technology and Machines (IFUM) is taking part in the event "The Night of Knowledge" together with the other institutes on the Mechanical Engineering Campus and the Hannover Centre for Production Technology. As part of the "November of Science", Leibniz University is opening its doors under the motto "The Night of Knowledge". Visitors can experience many research areas of the institute and forming technology up close. In addition to traditional technologies such as coining, modern systems like an acoustic camera system will be shown which is used to measure the acoustic emission of a forming machine. For sustainable production, press hardening processes are presented and an automated forging cell is explained. These and other experiments can be viewed and partially performed by the participants on November 4th.
