In 2021, six doctoral theses were successfully published at IFUM. Due to the restrictions caused by the Corona Pandemic, most of the PhD presentations were done digitally. More information can be found in the news section. The doctoral theses were published by the TEWISS publishing house and can also be accessed there by interested readers.

Here is an overview of all completed doctorates:

Kai Brunotte “Increasing the tool life of hot forging tools through the use of local load-adapted wear resistant treatments“

Alexander Chugreev Numerical and experimental investigations on the FE-simulation of rotary friction welding processes“

Lars Christian Gebel Evaluation of martensitic chromium steels for hot forming in the large-scale automotive production“

Lennard Lippold “Improving tribological properties of forging dies by surface conditioning with peening techniques“

Jens Schrödter “Method development for the characterization and modeling of temperature and microstructure dependent yield properties“

Johanna Uhe “Numerical and experimental investigations on co-extrusion with respect to intermetallic phase formation“

IFUM congratulates them all and wishes them all the best for the future!
