"Digital Innovation Founder Award": Highly remunerated prize for Picum at the Hanover Fair

Picum MT GmbH, a spin-off from the Institute of Production Engineering and Machine Tools (IFW) at the Hannover Centre for Production Technology, has secured one of Germany's most important start-up prizes. The company was awarded the "Digital Innovation Founder Award" at the Hanover Fair.

The prize is endowed with 32,000 euros and goes to Hanover for the first time. In 2015, the company had already won the start-up competition Startup-Impuls. A mobile machine tool, as developed by Picum, represents a completely new approach in metalworking. As an autonomous tool robot, it can repair and machine large components and tools required for aircraft, ships or cars on site. This reduces transport and repair costs enormously.

Picum MT is supported by the start-up service starting business of Leibniz Universität and supported in the BMWi funding programme "Exist Research Transfer".
