As part of our seminar on manual open-die forging using a hammer and anvil, the students were able to apply their theoretical knowledge of forming technology and materials science in practice.
Following the technical preparation and development of the manufacturing process, the students produced a hammer and a pair of tongs under supervision. The seminar provided a practical insight into the material behaviour of steel and the fundamental stages of a traditional forging process.
