The industrial colloquium of the DFG Priority Programme (SPP) 2422 “Data-driven process modelling in forming technology” took place in Stuttgart on 11th March 2025. The event brought together experts from academia and industry, highlighting the contribution that data-driven approaches can make to modern forming technology.
Participants were given fascinating insights into the 13 sub-projects of SPP 2422, which presented innovative methods for the AI-supported design of forming tools. Current challenges and future developments were discussed in specialist presentations from the fields of forming technology, automation technology, and data science. Particularly noteworthy was the considerable interest in the research results presented, which clearly demonstrated the potential of data-driven process modelling. In addition to scientific presentations, the colloquium provided ample opportunity for discussions and new collaborations.
Many thanks to the “Institut für Umformtechnik” Stuttgart for organising the event and to all speakers and participants for their valuable contributions. We look forward to further dialogue within the framework of SPP 2422.
