The research focuses on the development of an advanced wear model for high contact pressure forming processes. Building on the classic Archard model, a new concept has been introduced that evaluates wear based on frictional shear stress rather than just normal contact pressure. This allows a more realistic representation of wear, especially in complex sheet metal forming processes. The model has been implemented in Simufact Forming and validated by experimental studies - showing remarkable agreement between simulation and reality.
More than Research: A Key Member of IFUM
During his time at the Institute, Daniel Rosenbusch was not only an important member of the research area “Material Characterisation and Simulation”, but also took on the responsibilities of Deputy Chief Engineer. He was actively involved in numerous projects and contributed with great dedication to the organisation of events.
A New Role at EFB: Leadership and Responsibility
Daniel Rosenbusch has been Managing Director of the European Research Association for Sheet Metal Working (EFB) since 1st April 2024. He was officially appointed during the board meeting at that time, succeeding Dr. Norbert Wellmann, who retired the following year.
The IFUM team would like to congratulate him on his successful dissertation and wish him all the best in his new role at EFB!
